Mike Sanchez

As Director of our Local Government sector, Mike provides expertise in managing civil site design projects including oversight of budgets and staff. Prior to joining McAdams, Mike was not only involved in various land development projects but he also acquired diverse experience in areas such as municipal engineering, solid waste engineering, environmental remedial investigations / feasibility studies, forensic engineering, and business development. Mike’s extensive site design/permitting, water & wastewater system design/permitting, and project management experience coupled with his broad background gained over twenty years in the industry working with public and private clients, enables him to provide our clients with a high level of experience aimed at helping our clients deliver successful projects. In addition to Mike¹s current work with various local governments, he has worked on numerous projects at Duke University and has been an integral part of the design leadership for the new Purdue Pharma Manufacturing Warehouse in Durham, the Merck Warehouse Expansion in Durham, Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh, and Briar Chapel in Chapel Hill.

Mike Sanchez holds both a B.S. In Chemistry from the University of Maryland and a M.S.E. In Engineering from the University of Michigan and is a registered professional engineer in North Carolina and Virginia. He is also a certified LEED Accredited Professional, a member of Professional Engineers of North Carolina (PENC), where he serves on the Infrastructure and Sustainability Action Group, and a member of North Carolina-American Water Works Association / North Carolina Water Environment Association (NC AWWA-WEA).
