Our local economies are booming.  The value of real estate is appreciating rapidly -especially real estate near our downtowns. This is a great thing for our regions and for our state, however, there are some challenges that come with our regions’ success and with the gentrification of our urban areas. One of the most noticeable challenges our regions face related to growth is the loss of affordable housing options.  So, our team decided work together with Habitat for Humanity and NC State to help make a difference.

Habitat for Humanity in Wake County does a great job to help address the need for affordable housing, and we at McAdams are long-term supporters. Mike Munn, the firm’s President, has served on the Land and Development Committee for Habitat for several years and was recently appointed to the Habitat for Humanity and NCSU Red Ribbon Committee for their Build-A-Block project, which will construct 11 townhomes on land donated by NC State. About 40 of McAdams employees took part in a “Build Day” for the NC State Build-A-Block project off of Lake Wheeler Road in Raleigh and not only helped a great cause, but shared a day FULL of experiences that united our team even more than before!
