Sustainable Development Guidance + Standards

City of Raleigh, Stormwater Management Guidance Manual
McAdams is partnering with Freese and Nichols to provide consulting services for updating and modernizing the City of Raleigh’s Stormwater Management Guidance Manual. As the City prepares for the next phase of the Stormwater Program, development of the new Stormwater Guidance Manual will provide proactive planning, including more sustainable development guidance and standards. The new manual will also provide a more comprehensive approach to the City’s stormwater fee crediting. McAdams is providing technical support in review of the manual updates as well as leadership with development stakeholders and in providing an experienced and insightful perspective for the stormwater development community. Specific tasks to be provided by McAdams for the Raleigh team include: performing a benchmarking literature review of drainage criteria / reference documents; assist in making recommendations on the most appropriate design methods, variables and equations for the new manual; and meeting with various stakeholder groups, committees and citizen advisory councils to present and discuss technical recommendations, gather input and assist in revising the design manual document.
