This project is a retail and hotel development located on the former Alcatel site on the east side of Wake Forest Road just south of the Holly Park development in Raleigh, NC. Wake Towne Drive was extended through to Industrial Drive as part of this project. The development partners for this project are Regency and ITB Holdings for the retail component and Loden Properties for the hotel component. Wegmans anchors the retail part of this 22-acre development. This mixed-use project contains approximately 189,000 square feet of retail and a 154-room hotel. The parking for Wegmans is predominantly provided with a two-level parking deck and the parking for the remaining retail and the hotel are in surface parking lots.
To support the project, Wake Forest Road was widened to meet the UDO Avenue six-lane divided road section across our project frontage and additional improvements to Wake Forest Road all the way to the Beltline. Industrial Drive was upgraded to meet the Avenue two-lane undivided UDO street section. Wake Towne Drive was built to meet or exceed the Avenue two-lane undivided street section. Additional lanes required by the TIA were added at the intersection. The stormwater management was addressed using an underground detention system for water quantity control and an underground sand filter for water quality.
