Municipal Park

Located within walking distance to Clayton’s downtown, Municipal Park will be the Town’s central park. McAdams was commissioned by the Town to develop conceptual and construction drawings for what the Town envisions will be a central community gathering space. The park features a central green and amphitheater for events, splash pad and playground. Materials were selected to mimic those of the downtown streetscape, providing visual cues that the park is closely connected to Main Street. The park will host annual events such as the fourth of July fireworks celebration and offer rentals for smaller group events. The project was structured as a design-build project to expedite the design and construction process. Balfour Beatty served as the general contractor.

For this destination park, location of the play area and splash pad was thoughtfully selected to provide a focal point in the park, as well as easy access from the parking area. The adjacencies of the two components create a harmonious play environment and opportunities for parents and caregivers to connect and socialize.
