Project

Lewisville ISD, Flower Mound High School

Flower Mound High School is a comprehensive, master‑planned campus developed on an initial 50‑acre site in Flower Mound, Texas. Designed to support long‑term growth and evolving educational needs, the campus was built from the ground up with infrastructure and site systems intentionally planned for future expansion. McAdams provided a full suite of professional services, including existing infrastructure analysis, traffic impact studies, civil / site design, surveying, landscape architecture, and site irrigation design.

The original campus included a 190,000‑square‑foot main academic building with provisions for more than 50,000 square feet of future expansion, along with faculty, visitor, and student parking. Athletic and extracurricular facilities were integral to the initial site layout and included a football stadium, varsity baseball and softball stadiums, tennis courts, and supporting practice fields. McAdams also designed two public streets, underground storm sewer systems, and public and private water and sanitary sewer mains to serve both the campus and future development.

Ninth Grade Campus Expansion

As enrollment increased, McAdams continued to support campus growth through boundary surveying and civil engineering services for an additional 17‑acre parcel that was incorporated into the site. Subsequent improvements included expanded football stadium seating, a freestanding fieldhouse and locker room facility, permanent concession stands, a fine arts building, outdoor practice fields, stormwater detention facilities, and additional parking to accommodate growing student and visitor demand.

The campus expansion also introduced a new 900‑student Ninth Grade Center, thoughtfully designed to connect to the existing high school via an expanded and renovated corridor. The Ninth Grade Center was planned around smaller learning communities, with decentralized administrative offices that foster a more personalized connection between students and staff. Classrooms and corridors are filled with natural light and feature collaborative learning spaces that support team teaching and interactive instruction.

At the heart of the Ninth Grade Center is a secured main entrance with a centralized Administration Suite and a flexible Learning Hub that functions as a media center, cafeteria, and collaborative learning environment. The Learning Hub wraps around a central courtyard, visually and physically integrating the Ninth Grade Center into the broader campus while creating opportunities for outdoor learning and student engagement.

Together, the Flower Mound High School campus and Ninth Grade Center reflect a holistic approach to K‑12 campus planning—balancing infrastructure, safety, flexibility, and student experience. McAdams’ integrated civil engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture services helped create a scalable, connected campus designed to support both immediate needs and future growth.
