Celebrating World Landscape Architecture Month

Over the last several years, as McAdams has become increasingly involved in more complex and urban projects and communities, it made perfect sense to add landscape architecture to our suite of services. As we suspected at the outset, cohesively packaging civil engineering and landscape architecture services provides us an opportunity to better serve our clients. It is our goal to be involved in any project that is design sensitive right from the beginning. Incorporating thoughtful design at the front end of a project not only makes for smoother construction and more efficient plan production, it incorporates all our team members into the design process from engineering and stormwater to survey and construction staking.

Landscape architecture at McAdams is flourishing today because of the incredible talent we have been able to attract to our team as well as the chemistry in our studio. Firm-wide, we currently have 10 registered landscape architects with another three team members likely to be licensed in the next 12 months. In addition, we have a staff of planners and designers supporting these efforts that bring the total size to 21 members.

You may have seen some of our work completed locally or read about some of our projects in the news; North Hills East in Raleigh, Waverly mixed-use in Charlotte, Belk Plaza at UNC Charlotte, the future Honeycutt Farms community in Holly Springs or the North Carolina Museum of Art’s Meadow Greenway, to name a few. We continue to build our landscape architecture design portfolio with new and exciting projects added to the boards daily. Stay tuned; we’re only getting started!
