McAdams’ work on the Ebinport Road Capital Improvement Project was recognized as Project of the Year at the South Carolina American Public Works Association (SCAPWA) Annual Conference in Columbia, South Carolina on June 21. This project addressed significant flooding issues of four existing residential properties at the intersection of Ebinport Road and Northgate Lane in Rock Hill, SC. McAdams’ innovative design included an “undersized” culvert crossing upstream of the subject properties and expansion of the adjacent floodplain. Additionally, McAdams worked with City of Rock Hill construction crews to implement the proposed design. In a time when construction costs seem to limit the ability for municipalities to implement capital projects, this project was able to meet the project objectives and save the City of Rock Hill significant revenue to further their stormwater program.
