McAdams Appointed to Environmental Management Commission by Gov. Cooper
John McAdams, Founder and Chairman of McAdams, was recently appointed by North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper to the Environmental Management Commission, a state-wide governing body responsible for adopting rules for the protection, preservation, and enhancement of the State’s air and water resources.
John McAdams was chosen for his expertise in water quality issues through his involvement in the firm’s water resources work and for his land preservation effort through years of serving as a board member and chair of Triangle Land Conservancy.
The Commission oversees and adopts rules for several divisions of the Department of Environmental Quality, including the Divisions of Air Quality, Land Resources, Water Quality and Water Resources.
“I am honored to serve on this commission and give back to the State of North Carolina through this appointment,” said McAdams. “Stewardship of our environment is critical now more than ever. I am passionate about the protection, preservation and enhancement of our State’s air and water resources and will seek to ensure that North Carolina remains a leader in environmental policy for generations to come.”
John McAdams founded The John R. McAdams Company in 1979 and has grown it over the last 40 years to be one of the largest and most respected multidisciplinary engineering companies in North Carolina. He now chairs the company’s Board of Directors and focuses on corporate strategy.
