Johnston County Regional Park

Johnston County Regional Park is an ambitious 81.1-acre destination park taking shape in the Cleveland community of Johnston County, North Carolina. Envisioned as a premier recreational and gathering space, the park is being designed to serve residents of all ages through a diverse mix of active and passive amenities that promote wellness, recreation and community connection. Once complete, the park will feature multi-use athletic fields, basketball and pickleball courts, inclusive playgrounds, a dog park, skate park, amphitheater, disc golf course, scenic walking trails and a fishing pond. These amenities are thoughtfully integrated throughout the site to create a vibrant, accessible experience that encourages year-round use and engagement.

A key focus of the design is balancing recreation with environmental stewardship. Significant open space and ecological areas are being preserved to protect the site’s natural character while supporting long-term sustainability. Supporting infrastructure, including parking, utilities, restrooms and roadway improvements along Matthews Road, will enhance accessibility and ensure the park can serve the community for generations to come.
