Celebrating Leadership: Mary Heath Receives the 2024 Corporate Leadership Award

We are thrilled to announce that Mary Heath has been awarded the Triangle Business Journal’s 2024 Corporate Leadership Award! Since joining McAdams on February 22, 2016, Mary has been a transformative force within our organization, and this recognition is a testament to her unwavering commitment and visionary leadership.

As the leader of our Corporate Services team, Mary has unified a group of 40 employees across various focus areas, including HR, IT, marketing, communications, talent acquisition, training and employee engagement, to support our project teams so they can better serve our clients. With over 450 employees, Mary’s leadership has been crucial in supporting McAdams’ rapid growth.

Mary’s impact extends beyond our teammates. She has spearheaded the redesign and upgrade of five office spaces, including our headquarters in Raleigh. These enhancements not only promote collaboration and productivity but also reflect our commitment to providing an environment where all employees can thrive. Under her guidance, we have aligned our physical spaces with our strategic business goals, making a lasting impression on both current and future team members and creating spaces that our teammates look forward to working in every day.

Mary is not only a leader at McAdams but also deeply engaged in the Raleigh community. She actively participates in local organizations and has been a significant contributor to the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Leadership Conference. She supports our internal employee resource groups, including McAdams’ philanthropic committee, McAdams SHARES, which has already distributed over $129,000 in donations in 2024 alone to community partners like Rebuilding Together of the Triangle, the Durham Rescue Mission and Southeast Raleigh Magnet School, to name a few. Her commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion ensures that everyone at McAdams and in our industry feels they belong. Through her work with trusted partners like The Diversity Movement, Mary is focused on providing insights into our company’s demographics to help pave the way for meaningful and long-lasting improvements at McAdams and beyond.

Mary is a dedicated mentor, meeting regularly with team members to support their growth. She played a pivotal role in creating an associate program for high performers and embodies our open-door philosophy, making herself available to all employees. Her commitment to developing future leaders within and outside McAdams truly sets her apart.

Mary’s accomplishments and leadership are constants in all of McAdams’ business planning. She always thinks about the employee and client experience, ensuring that all decisions are fair and thoughtful while also considering how the moves McAdams makes today can better position our teammates for the future.
