Project

Duke University, Wallace Wade Stadium Renovation

Wallace Wade Stadium was originally built and has been the home of Duke University Football since 1929. The overhaul of Wallace Wade Stadium included the lowering of the existing NCAA football field, removal of the track around the old football field, addition of field level ADA seating, construction of a new Press Tower, construction of a new concourse surrounding the stadium and construction of a new entry way on the east side of the stadium. As part of the overall design team, McAdams’ tasks included design and permitting of the civil utilities (stormwater, sanitary sewer and water), hydraulic storm and sanitary sewer modeling and on-site stormwater management. Coordination was required with all disciplines on the project including architecture, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and landscape architecture. There was also a heavy coordination effort with the team designing the Duke University owned thermal, electrical and telecommunication utilities located outside of the building. McAdams provided on-site construction administration services for the civil utility installation to ensure project success.
