Morgan-Windsor Alley

McAdams provided design services for the conversion of an existing through street and an adjacent alleyway (recently reconnected from the demolition of an existing building) into a lively pedestrian plaza space. The design included gateway entry signage; paver walkways; ornamental street trees; shade structures; an artificial turf lounge and play surface; internally-illuminated swings hung from a custom pergola structure; lighting; an interactive fountain feature; and custom artwork and murals with both daytime and nighttime dynamic attraction. The plaza can host food trucks and can be accessed by emergency vehicles when necessary. The resultant design will become a vibrant Downtown Monroe destination for residents and visitors, alike.
