Funding Services
While transformative opportunities such as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) have made trillions of dollars available for infrastructure projects that improve quality of life and create safer, healthier and more resilient communities, securing adequate funding remains one of the primary challenges local governments face to advance capital improvement programs and implement community priorities.

McAdams’ parks planning team brings over 25 years of combined grant writing expertise, making us a trusted partner for communities seeking funding for parks and recreation projects. Over the past decade, we have successfully assisted communities in securing over $7 million in Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) grants. Our team includes professionals with experience in state government, where they supported local governments in preparing and submitting PARTF and North Carolina Land and Water Fund (NCLWF) grant proposals, overseeing application processing, conducting project inspections, and ensuring project completion. We excel at navigating the guidelines and mandates required for successful grant applications and long-term park management, helping local governments meet requirements that extend decades from grant award.
McAdams’ transportation team are industry leaders in developing innovative and sustainable multimodal transportation solutions to create safe streets and trails for all. Our funding team pairs this expertise with a deep understanding of the ever-evolving funding landscape and project delivery process to successfully obtain funding from a range of competitive sources. Since the inception of McAdam’s transportation practice in 2021 we have helped NCDOT and local governments across North Carolina win almost $14 million in discretionary grant funding for both planning and construction projects from programs like Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE), Promoting Resilient Operations for Transformative, Efficient, and Cost-saving Transportation (PROTECT) and Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Program. Our grant writing team is skilled at creating compelling narratives that address grant criteria while helping our clients build coalitions of support and create the framework for successful project implementation.
