Mike Munn is the visionary leader of McAdams, serving as president and chief executive officer since 2010. His journey with the company began in 1997 as an entry-level project engineer, steadily rising through the ranks to lead the firm through years of growth and transformation.

In addition to guiding the company’s overall strategy, Mike leads McAdams’ mergers and acquisitions efforts, fostering strong relationships with partner firms and ensuring smooth, thoughtful transitions that support long-term success. His hands-on approach to integration helps maintain company culture while expanding capabilities.

Beyond McAdams, Mike is an active leader in the community, serving in key roles with organizations such as Marbles Kids Museum, NC State University’s Civil Engineering Department, Urban Land Institute, the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, and the Executive Committee of Downtown Raleigh Alliance.

What is your favorite childhood memory?

"My most cherished childhood memories are from the summers my brother and I spent on my uncle’s tobacco farm. At our disposal was expansive acreage that had creeks, ponds and fields to explore, as well as lots of cool equipment and machinery that we got to operate. By age six, I was helping to grow, harvest and take-to-market the crops alongside the hardest working people I’ve ever known. Those summers influenced my heightened focus on the importance of education and the value of a strong work ethic."
