Project
Alliance Advanced Manufacturing Training Facility
Johnston Community College
The I-95/I-40 Crossroads of America Economic Development Alliance is leading the development of a state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Facility in the Town of Four Oaks, North Carolina. This $35 million, 67,000-square-foot facility is designed to drive economic growth, support high-tech job creation, and attract advanced manufacturing industries to the region. The project is the result of a strong partnership between The Alliance, Johnston County Government, Johnston Community College, and existing industries.
McAdams provided the civil engineering and landscape architecture design for this transformative facility. The site features a welcoming exterior with a great lawn and a social plaza, creating an inviting space for student and faculty interaction. The landscape design utilizes a low-maintenance, native plant palette that supports campus resiliency. Additional features include an outdoor teaching area and a specialized welding shop, reinforcing the project’s commitment to education and workforce development. These elements are intended to equip the next generation with the skills needed to thrive in advanced manufacturing careers.
