Project

Beckwith Pump Station + Force Main

McAdams analyzed a 1,800-acre Northwest Apex basin for a Town of Apex regional pump station. The build-out scenario of the basin was evaluated and results were presented to the Town of Apex. The pump station location was then revised and the basin was reduced to a 1,000-acre basin due to physical constraints and cost of construction. The project included the design of a 528 gpm submersible pump station with 12,000 linear feet of 8” force main designed to discharge into an existing interceptor downstream. The majority of the force main route was within North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) right-of-way. McAdams staff obtained the necessary permits from NCDEQ and encroachment agreements from NCDOT.
