GoTriangle, Passenger Amenity Program

McAdams is currently providing passenger amenity design services under an on-call agreement with GoTriangle. These services include completing field evaluations, surveying, easement exhibits, design, permitting, and bid package preparation for up to 100 bus stops in Durham County. Each bus stop improvement involves coordination with multiple stakeholders, including the City of Durham; North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT); and local institutions, such as Duke University, North Carolina Central University, and adjacent property owners. As part of these services, design for signal modifications, additional sidewalk, rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs), bus bays, storm drainage, retaining walls, and other design services are required to provide comprehensive upgrades to GoTriangle’s and GoDurham’s transit system for rider comfort and accessibility.
