East Raleigh Transit Center

McAdams is leading a multidisciplinary team tasked with developing a conceptual design for a new GoRaleigh transit center and final design for a park-and-ride lot near the intersection of New Bern Avenue and New Hope Road. Construction of the park-and-ride lot is planned to be completed in conjunction with the opening of the City’s first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor and will serve riders of the BRT line. The park-and-ride lot is planned to contain 100+ parking spaces and will include vehicle charging infrastructure; security cameras; lighting; a kiss-and-ride shelter; and a covered walkway to the adjacent BRT station. The future transit facility is planned to consist of six covered bus bays, a driver amenity building, accommodations for micromobility (scooters and bikeshare) and green stormwater infrastructure.
