Greenfield Park

The McAdams team is assisting the City of Wilmington in developing a long-term vision for its historic Greenfield Park. Greenfield Park, with its more than a 100 years of history, was once the heart of the Wilmington community bustling with activities. Eventually, the park fell in despair and several of those amenities, including the toy train, were removed. As it stands currently, the park offers remnants of these historic stories and more passive recreation amenities to the community with its five-mile trail loop; fishing and kayaking at the lake; special events at the amphitheater; and several themed garden spaces, such as a Fragrance Garden and Rotary Club Garden. The McAdams team is currently working with the City to develop a community engagement plan to gather input from park users. Ultimately, the McAdams team will develop recommendations for the park revitalization that not only address the immediate needs of deferred maintenance, but also the vision for the next 20 years as a legacy park for generations to come.
