NC State University, Sullivan Drive

Through our open-ended design agreement for civil engineering services with NC State University, McAdams completed the design of a modified bioretention cell stormwater retrofit along Sullivan Drive, just in time to prove its strength during Hurricane Ian. This retrofit mitigated shallow flooding along Sullivan Drive, while also cleaning and filtering runoff before entering Rocky Branch. Special consideration was taken due to its location within a Duke Energy transmission line easement, where access for maintenance was required.
