Wake Technical Community College, Wayfinding Master Plan

As lead designer, McAdams has completed campus-wide renovations and expansions to the +/- 103-acre Southern Wake Campus for Wake Technical Community College. As part of this project, McAdams developed a wayfinding and environmental graphics implementation plan that included external signage such as directional, building, pedestrian and kiosk signage. The intent of the master plan was to provide consistent wayfinding signage standards for use at all campuses to direct students, staff and visitors. Consistent, understandable wayfinding contributes to pedestrian safety and ease of access. The design team prepared contract documents and construction drawings documenting materials and methods of construction, a signage hierarchy and typology and sign locations. McAdams also facilitated bid and construction phase services.
