Ingram Family YMCA, Wellness Center

This project involved the complete renovation of an existing wellness center following purchase by the YMCA of the Triangle. The design team addressed site constraints such as infrastructure within the floodplain leading to successful permitting and construction of improvements to meet local development standards; improved parking and circulation; and enhanced the overall exterior landscape of the building. The improvements provided an outdoor fitness patio designed for outdoor yoga or boot-camp classes. Score joints were detailed to suggest yoga mats and a low, decorative concrete wall provides an anchoring system for outdoor fitness equipment such as push-up bars and pullies.
