Buncombe County Pedestrian Plan

Led by the County and French Broad River Metropolitan Planning Organization (FBRMPO), the Buncombe County Pedestrian Plan will improve pedestrian infrastructure in the County’s unincorporated areas. The project aims to develop an equitable, action-oriented plan that identifies a future pedestrian network, prioritizes safety, and aligns with the County’s 2043 Comprehensive Plan. It includes extensive data collection, community engagement, and stakeholder collaboration to assess existing conditions and identify gaps. The plan will culminate in prioritized project recommendations, policy updates, and funding strategies to guide implementation over the next decade and beyond.
