Project

Zion Hills

McAdams worked closely with Mount Zion Baptist Church to design a preliminary master plan for development of their fellowship expansion and surrounding property. The new development will span nearly 65 acres at the intersection of Alamance Church Road, Willow Road, and Sharpe Road in southeast Greensboro, North Carolina. The development, named Zion Hills, was intentionally created to serve the surrounding community and will be managed by the church through their own Mount Zion Development Company.

At the heart of the plan is a 40,000-square-foot medical office building, developed in partnership with Novant Health, which will offer an array of essential healthcare services. Surrounding this healthcare anchor, the site will include 250 to 280 senior housing units and an integrated senior center intended to provide services to the residents, such as a coffee shop, barber shop, a small performing arts and movie-viewing venue, and classrooms for fitness or cooking. The remaining development will consist of 50 to 75 residential single-family and townhome units.

High priority was placed on protecting the environmentally sensitive areas of this site. The McAdams team has integrated conservation, recreation, and wellness into these areas through the inclusion of outdoor walking trails and natural open space, promoting access to nature and active lifestyles.
