Project
CDIA, Fourth Parallel Runway
As the Charlotte area continues to experience rapid growth, so has the demand for smarter, more efficient air travel. McAdams is proud to support this progress by contributing to one of the most impactful aviation infrastructure projects in the Southeast: the Fourth Parallel Runway Expansion at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT).
Our Geomatics team played a critical role in the runway development process, delivering a range of surveying services that will support every stage of the project lifecycle. Key services included:
- Topographic as-builts to document existing site conditions with high accuracy;
- Design coordination support for engineering and architectural teams;
- Construction staking to ensure correct placement of critical runway infrastructure;
- Plan review and RFI (Request for Information) submittals to streamline communication and resolve field issues; and
- Development and maintenance of a project control network, enabling consistent and dependable survey reference throughout the expansion.
By applying advanced geomatics technology and field expertise, McAdams helped establish the foundational accuracy necessary for this transformative airport runway expansion.
