Project

Geodetic Control Network

McAdams located and evaluated all the existing geodetic monuments using Global Positioning System (GPS) static observations and processed each data set through National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) / National Geodetic Survey (NGS) Online Positioning User Service (OPUS). McAdams coordinated with the City of Lewisville staff to determine the location of new monuments to replace previously destroyed monuments. The final deliverable included a spiral bound book with data sheets describing the locations and outlining the geodetic data of all 39 monuments and a geodatabase complete with web links that have been incorporated into the City’s interactive geographic information system (GIS) map and available to the public through their website.
