Project
Fenton
Fenton is a 92-acre regional mixed-use development located on Cary Towne Boulevard at the interchange with Interstate 40 in Cary, North Carolina. Fenton provides a vibrant, high-density, pedestrian- and transit-oriented development directly serving Cary and west Raleigh residents. As a high-profile development hosting office towers, it attracts visitors from across the greater Research Triangle Region. Fenton includes vertically mixed buildings with residential, office, hotel and retail focused on a pedestrian-friendly main street. Integration with transit was a key measure of project success. The project is located within walking distance of a proposed stop on the future bus rapid transit line connecting Raleigh and Cary and will provide direct access to the local and regional transit systems.
McAdams played a significant role, working with Hines, Columbia Development, Nelson Worldwide, the Town of Cary and NCDOT in the successful execution of the project. The first phase delivered the grading and infrastructure to support 20 buildings, two public streets, two parking decks and a 3-mile bicycle/ pedestrian network. McAdams provided a wealth of high-quality engineering and design services to the project that made the project better and protected the schedule. Our team included entitlement, civil engineering, survey, SUE, landscape architecture, 3D visualizations, transportation design, bicycle/ pedestrian and greenway design, stormwater and green stormwater infrastructure and permitting.
Fenton will be completed in five phases over a period of seven years. Overall, the development will include the construction of over 2.9 million square feet of commercial and residential space, along with supporting infrastructure,
