McAlpine Creek Greenway

Mecklenburg County Greenway system is ever expanding and reaching more and more people. McAdams worked with the County to deliver a critical piece of the McAlpine Creek Greenway. As part of the Carolina Thread Trail system, they will connect across southern Charlotte, creating key east-west connections. The County is expanding the McAlpine Creek Greenway from the existing trailhead on Johnston Road at the intersection of the current McAlpine Creek Greenway and the Four Mile Creek Greenway up to NC 51 (Pineville-Matthews Road) and ending at the Charlotte Country Day School on Green Rea Road. This section of trail connects several neighborhoods on both sides of the creek, as well as provides safe access to sidewalk networks to both Charlotte County Day School and McAlpine Elementary School. McAdams provided full construction documents to the County for two-and-a-half miles of trail that include two bridge crossings, several sections of boardwalk with concrete decking and additional parking at a new trailhead.
