Northwest ISD Athletic Facilities Renovations

Northwest ISD renovated athletic facilities at two high schools, four middle schools and its district stadium in a single summer and fall construction season in 2017. The program delivered 16 new synthetic turf fields, six new rubberized tracks and numerous perimeter improvements in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Sports Design Group designed the program before the firm’s integration with McAdams.

Sixteen Fields in One Season: High School Athletic Complexes

At Byron Nelson High School, the project added two synthetic turf practice fields, an indoor field, and synthetic turf baseball and softball fields, and replaced the turf and track at the school’s main stadium. Northwest High School received the same set of practice, indoor, baseball and softball fields, plus a field replacement at NISD Stadium, the district’s main stadium. The high school fields use Matrix Helix turf with a Cushdrain pad, and the Byron Nelson stadium track is an S300 epiQ system.

Four Middle Schools, One Standard: Field and Track Renovations

Chisholm Trail, Tidwell, Pike and Medlin Middle Schools each received a new synthetic turf field and track, built on the same schedule as the high school work.

Two Contractors, One Schedule: Coordinating a District-Wide Build

The district ran the work as one large project with two separate contractors. Every site, from the middle school fields to NISD Stadium, was built during the same summer and fall of 2017.
