UNC Wilmington, Outdoor Recreational Master Plan

The UNC Wilmington Outdoor Recreational Master Plan project incorporated a variety of outdoor recreational improvements to the Main Campus property. The Recreational Master Plan integrated the 2018 UNC Wilmington Campus Master Plan, new residence halls, and other planned developments adjacent to the project sites. The master plan was developed in two phases, with the first phase focusing on concept planning, site selection, and overall program implementation at UNC Wilmington. The second phase focused on a phased implementation plan with an initial construction budget of three million dollars. The completed project includes enhancements such as natural and artificial multi-purpose recreational fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, a pavilion and restroom building, outdoor fitness equipment, pedestrian circulation, stormwater management, parking, and site lighting.
