Harrisburg Road Park, Renovations

As part of Mecklenburg County’s effort to reinvigorate existing parks through reinvestment and renovations, McAdams’ landscape architecture, civil engineering, and surveying teams were tasked with taking the community feedback collected by Mecklenburg county and input from the client to develop renovation concepts through construction documents and construction administration for the community park. The park now features accessible parking and pathways, a playground with musical elements to honor the park’s namesake, an overlook to the lush golf course, games tables, a pavilion with grills and seating, and a renovated basketball court. These renovations were made all while maintaining existing trees on site to provide shade and a connection to the nature while bringing the park updated amenities.
